May and Lee
Whimsical Pre-Wedding Photoshoot | Iceland Photographer
Bettina Vass Photography | Iceland
Our adventurous second day with May and Lee continued at the magical Snæfellsnes Peninsula. You can read about the first day here.
We drove all the way to Arnarstapi and we visited the famous Búðir Black church. We had to postpone the second day because of an orange storm warning. A violent storm hit the island (again) which caused several travel delays with closed roads. After 2 days when the storm finally passed Iceland we could start our adventure and drive from Reykjavik up to the peninsula. The wind was still extreme and unfortunately we couldn’t visit a few popular locations.
Me as the photographer who controls most part of the day can’t afford to cause any accident just to get an epic shot. I rather skip those locations and situations which could work in a nice still day. The safety of my couples are the first in any cost!
We wanted to check out the popular natural bridge at Arnarstapi but the wind was still so crazy strong that we couldn’t even approach the coast line. We had to take a longer break to hid from the wind and warm up. That’s how we ended up taking all those beautiful portrait photos of May and Lee. The Interior of the Hotel Búðir is just stunning!
The weather and conditions in Iceland can always surprise you and force you to improvise! We still had a lot of fun and this day presented a completely different experience from our first sunny day.
