Ágota and Þórdur met during their university years in Hungary. They immediately hit it off and a few years after that they moved back to Iceland where he is from. They got their first apartment together, got engaged and ended up celebrating on the top of an erupting volcano.
I am the very lucky third wheel of the story who could tag along on their epic helicopter trip to create memories for them. It wasn’t my first time at the volcano but from the area where the helicopter dropped us down the view was unbelievable that I haven’t seen before. There were literally no one around us and we could completely soak into the experience. I am not sure I can describe the vibe and feeling of being up there surrounded by nothing but the incredible power of nature. Mind-blowing!
